Offered at Stillpoint

Stillpoint  offers

personal and spiritual development
through
psychotherapy
is work on life issues of any kind. People come for psychotherapy when they wish to look more deeply into themselves and how they are. Sometimes, but not always, the venture into psychotherapy is caused by a glitch in normal life, or a major tragic event. The therapist and the person meet usually once a week, and this work tend to be longer term - several months or years. The reason the person comes for psychotherapy is rarely why they stay in it! Usually the momentum which is generated by psychotherapy encourages people to go further on the journey of self discovery, sometimes continuing psychotherapy after the initial issue is resolved.
counselling
is dealing with issues which have caused an inability to continue with normal life. Alongside counselling, people gain greater self-knowledge and awareness. They also take on life skills which they can then apply to life in general. Counselling tends not to last as long as psychotherapy, with short term counselling being effective in as few as 6- 8 sessions.
workshops
are built around the design  of the people requesting them. Past workshops have included the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Stress reduction, Meditation in the workplace, Relaxation in medical settings, Team Building, Oasis days for people working in Pastoral Care
supervision
is creating space to think for people who work with people. This consultative relationship frees us up from our own agenda to more clearly see the needs of those with whom we work. Qualified supervisors are experienced in working across the spectrum of the helping professions, and will have taken care to educate themselves in the field in which their supervisees work.
spiritual accompaniment
is about fostering a person's experience of the spiritual. A companion responds to the request to walk along the person's path with them, listening to how they see life, noting what gives energy and what drains it. The relationship becomes a safe place to reflect and grow, as well as to know better one's values, goals, inspirations and motivations.
mentoring
is for when life is good but it could be better! Neither issue led, nor responding to upset, mentoring is a space where we can reflect safely with another, trained to listen and inspire. The mentor learns the hopes and aspirations of the person, and will work with them in realising these.
